B-Attitudes Inc. is a not-for-profit organisation,  public benevolent institution, with tax deductible status and Charitable Collections Licence .  B-Attitudes Inc. is a community-based service established 10 years ago.    B-Attitudes ABN registration was gained on 27th March 2002 and endorsement as an income tax exempt charitable entity was gained on 21st February 2002. Endorsement as a deductible gift recipient was issued in July 2002, effective from 7th March.

Since this time B-Attitudes has continued as is, thanks to financial donation and donation of the founding members’ and Committee of Management expertise.

Donations, grants and philanthropic favour are much needed to enable expansion of the work B-Attitudes has been doing over the past 10 years.  B-Attitudes strategic plan involves fundraising, strengthening the service capacity, training new recovery facilitators to expand the service and to increase sustainability

A base was secured on 28th March 2002 at a rent subsidised by the owners who supported the vision of the founding directors.  The base up to the end of June 2004 was funded by donations from community groups, businesses and individuals. Rental for the first year was donated by The Humanity Trust, the second year rental provided by donations from Belgravia Group, Riverview Church, Victory Life Church and Soroptimist International Perth and South Perth.  All office equipment and supplies have been donated or purchased by way of small equipment grants and a philanthropic grant.  The three founding directors have worked unpaid for 6 out of 10 years.

Federal funding under the National Illicit Drug Strategy Non Government Organisation Treatment Grants Program via the Dept. Of Health and Ageing  was awarded from 2004-2006, providing for minimum costs. In 2006 with rent doubling, the fixed base was replaced by the use of a meeting room in West Perth, made available free by Soroptimist International Perth, and  the  mobile service continued,  using the founding directors own vehicles.  After a 2 year process involving a feasibility, business and strategic plan formulation by a private consultant funded by a Lotterywest grant,  a brand new mobile office/people mover was purchased in 2008, supported by another Lotterywest vehicle grant awarded in late 2007.

The Federal NIDS grant was renewed from 2006-2008 without indexation. Unfortunately despite  good reports and plans for expansion with the new mobile office,  B-Attitudes were informed only two weeks before the end of this agreement that  this would not be renewed.

Changing the life of an individual chained by drug/alcohol addiction into a fruitful and abundant life which flows on to the next generation, especially if that individual discovers the love of Christ in the process, is of eternal value.

Tell those who are rich in this present world not to be contemptuous of others, and not to rest the weight of their confidence on the transitory power of wealth but on the living God, who generously gives us everything for our enjoyment. Tell them to do good, to be rich in kindly actions, to be ready to give to others and sympathize with those in distress.  Their security should be invested in the life to come, so that they may be sure of holding a share in the life which is permanent.  1 Timothy 6:17-19
